My Point Of View

My Point of View is an anthology of poems written by Colville Young Jr., following his first literary publication ‘Baal’. It is divided into three sections, I Politics & Religion, II My Point of View and III Belize, My Country. It reflects his religious and political beliefs, as well as his thoughts about his country, family and culture.

His country Belize, a former British colony, is a blend of mainly British Caribbean, Hispanic and Garifuna cultures, and is the only country in Central America in which English is the first language. Like other third world countries, it continues its struggle to find good governance amid the influence of powerful foreign agendas and a majority poor desperate population. The last section highlights these struggles, as well as provide some historical knowledge about the country Belize.
